Nah. It's a big ceremony that's altogether unnecessary. Just get in and get to work I say. And a whole day off to see the new guy swear he'll do his best for the country? Ridiculous. He had better do good for the country, that's why he was voted in. I don't need to watch it. The fact that it's happening is good enough. And for anyone who wants to watch it, just hit record on the VCR. It's that simple.

It's probably a good idea to be in school that day for teachers to render the significance of the ceremony. The swearing in and his speech is what the people are supposed to witness. Like Matthew said, most of the ceremony is just that. The day they put flame throwers to use in C O D will be my holiday ;)
I agree with Matthew. I don't really see why this Inauguration would be any different from the other 43 that we have had in the past. Talk is cheap. Telling someone that you will do something, and then actually doing it are two different things.

nothing to stop schools for, i do have a friend in PA that i just talked to that is off school and im kinda mad, but that dosent change my mind. Anyway most people atleast in my school have no idea that it is going on tomorrow and even if they did i couldent see any of them have and intent to watch it. would just be of a shcool day in my opinion.
No, but my brother and sister are off tomorrow for a teacher "in service" day, whatever that is. But they get the day after MLK day off every year for that anyway. I got it when I was going to school as a kid.

It is fairly important seeing that he is the first muslim, african american, kenyan president lol. Obviously that was just a joke, no it is no reason to skip school. I am SOOOO tired of hearing about it too, like its all anybody is talking about. Stupid teenagers that just think hes awesome without knowing anything about him, and blacks who I have heard say "this will fix our problems"....... (what problems?). Its just getting very annoying. You know if McCain had won nobody would be this excited.
If McCain would have won it still would have been big because we would have had the first female V.P.
I agree with Bren, I think every student should watch it because tomorrow is a change in the way other countries look at us. People are looking past this making history and more on what they don't like about Obama. I mean 40+ years ago an African American couldn't use the same bathroom as a white person and now one is taking the highest office of the United States.
