I never thought that it would happen to me yet it did.

Poor me. I have come down with a terrible disease.

Now, in my computer room is a television. I have it all. My computer, phone, headset, books and a television all in the same room.

Heck, I might as well close off the rest of the house. Oh, well, I do need my kitchen to cook yummy foods for my friends here on Geeks and of course, I have to do my girly thing in the bathroom.

Maybe, I will just put a day bed in here and I will be set.

Anyone else have an all purpose room?

I don't but I am sure people on here do :)

Nothing wrong with it at all :)

Take care.

You just described every room in my house, except for the special room - the cellar, the lair, the bat cave, the fallout shelter, the underworld safe haven for the zombie apocalypse.

My apartment's tiny... so what you'd probably consider a "room" is my whole pad. :) heh. But it's always easier to clean... The only thing I need is a better "command chair" in front of my computer desk and all will be perfect. I just don't relish the idea of spending $400 for a super-awesome chair.. ;)

What some people think of as the prefect chair is not to me. I use a chair that offers good back support and swivels with rollers of course.

It really all depends on the person but I need to sit straight so that I don't have pain in my shoulders.

Look Mechafenris, here is a chair that doesn't cost much that is similar to mine. I bought mine used for 25 bucks.

Greg, do you really have a set up like that in many rooms?

What am I asking. Of course you do. he hee

Yea, I actually have at least 2 computers in every room. I have TV tuners in some computers. I have 3 devices that come directly off my Cable TV connection - Projector with 108" wide screen, 37" HDTV, my primary computer with dedicated TV card. On top of all of that I have a SlingBox which turns all of my Computers, Laptops and mobile devices into TV's. What a SlingBox does is converts cable TV signal into Ethernet TCP/IP network packets. And of course I have 5 physical phones in the house (not cell phones) and three of them are cordless. Also my computers have Skype on them, so my computers are telephones also. And to top it all off my house is a giant library of bookcases filled with books, tech manuals and computer magazines of all kinds. Yea I think that about does it. I would not leave the house if I didn't have to - I am perfectly satisfied in my little think tank.

Ory, that is too funny. All you need is your girlfriend in there.. Sorry but that was too cute.

Hey YFMS, if I were you, I would be looking for a mini fridge....that will hook you up good.

Greg, that is awesome but I figured nothing less after the first post you made.

It seems to me that you could be hooked up doing all kinds of work right from your home.

I am trying to decide if I want Skype of another service. I just found out that Skype doesn't offer 911. It will not matter if I keep my home phone. Just trying to decide.

I did work at home for about 4 1/2 years until the paychecks stopped coming when I got laid off working for an international Unix business hardware / software developer / help desk. And I worked part time from home in conjunction with where I was working - bringing home pc's for upgrades and repairs or just building them. Now all my contacts are gone and I have not been able to generate any more yet. My service bay is open for business and ready to go, but the silence of the wasteland prevails. I hate wasting my time, resources and talents - there is nothing worse than being paralyzed by nothing at all, just thin air.

I only use Skype as a supplementary means of communication. I am only using it for computer to computer calling because it is free and anyone can do it, all you need is a computer, microphone and speakers / headphones. But I will eventually upgrade to computer to phone calling. True, Skype does not have 911 service, neither does other voip services, Magic Jack doesn't either. It's just like cell phones - you can be anywhere, not like a land line which has end point termination that does not change.

Greg, you should know me by now, I am just throwing things out there.

I think I read today that Majic Jack has 911 ability.

I like the idea of taking to people on the computer. That is something that I do using Yahoo Messenger now. So, I am thinking, what is the point of having another since just about everyone has Yahoo.

Troll, I don't know who you are but that was funny.

YFMS, you are too funny. It seems to me that you just need a house with one room in it. Oh, and a wife or girlfriend to keep you supplied in food and beverages while you surf or play games. he hee
