Since the 1940's we have been exploring nuclear. From bombs to powerplants. The capabilities of splitting atoms. We use it daily in hospitals in xrays, power plants accross the globe use it as well. But as time wears on the inevitable has happened-- we have nuclear radioactive byproducts. Now we must get rid of it. Properly dispose of it or face the consequences. So we ship it to centers for it in tractor trailer trucks, by train etc. Not guarded, not as secured, nor as adequately as some feel we should. We ship it through our travel routes, through our cities and towns. We stick a radioactive sign on the truck and away she goes. Some companies take great precautions, others not so much.
So what do you guys think? Based on what you know, do you think we take good care of our radioactive waste? Or do we just do a lousy job and pay for it later? Express your feelings/ideas , tell us what YOU think.

In 33 years of busting atoms, I have seen the most improbable mistakes become normal. Like disposing of Chicago Neuclear Pile #3 right next to good public fishing hole. Peddle scrap metal to Mexico. It comes back as radioactive lawn chairs. Sit for an hour and seven minutes you won't need birth controll. The Hanford Neuclear Reservation has tritum springs.
In case you think glow in the dark junp production is slowing down, think of these things. The cooling pools for expended pile rods are almost too full. Add a few more rods and get the China syndrome. Cut the water off and get the same thing. Just for grins and giggles, we got to rebuild 13,000 neuclear wheapons. Damn things have a limited shelf life.
To confound things a little bit further, we forgot how to build a good bomb. Worse, the bomb physical plants are long gone. We have to make the neuclear mess all over agin. ( Double the pleasure, double the fun, so we can be neuclear number one. )

Hurray for Hanford, they dug up yet another load top purity plutonium. Super grade bang stuff. Can you say Nagasaki, perhaps New York. And No one much cares.
The dooms day clock ticks ever closer to midnight. You need not go to Hanford, you can generate your own bang stuff. Wake up depleted Uranium and you get Plutonium. It's used in the damndest places. Like counterweights in air planes. By the way, proper safe shelding for plutonium, is a paper bag, But, beware of criticle mass.
You to can make the sun rise at midnight.
