Nice Guys
Why do women claim to want nice guys? I've read it in books, seen it in music and experienced in real life. I mean, I'm a relativly nice guy- ask me to stay up for 12 hours to do a project with you and I'll obliege. So, women generally claim to want a nice guy, and that the last ex was a "real bastard". So, why is it that us "nice guys" fall into the friends catagory, rather than the "I wish I dated him" catagory.
Surely, looks can be (pun not inteneded) overlooked. I mean, I would take a girl with a nice personality and a face that looks like a burnt rat any day. Women like bastards, because bastards can be bastards and get away with it, they never have to be a nice guy.
For example, I did a task for a female friend (whom always bitches about her bastard boyfriends) and she didn't even thank me.
So, in conclusion, I'm going to be a bastard from now on, starting by setting fire to something. Finally, what do you women really want in a man? Tell the truth, if you want someone who picks on weaker guys, say please. This is the interent, nobody knows who you are.

Actually, you're grouping girls together in a large stereotypical group, which is mildly offensive to me. I'm going to pretend for a moment that you actually are writing this with a hint of satire, and not just blind rage because you keep picking out girls who have bad taste in men.
Girls who like guys who are jerks generally learn this behavior from their parents. Lets set up a hypothetical situation, using personal examples from my life.
Woman A) She married a guy who ended up being a womanizing jackass, who berates her in front of her friends and one time in a drunken rage pushes her. She had four girls with him before they part ways.
Girl 1) Married an alcoholic with self-mutilation tendencies. He ends up putting her through a screen door when he sees her talking to the mailman, and then shortly after runs a knife through his stomach in a fit of guilt.
Girl 2) Marries a womanizer who knocked her up before they got married. This guy falls off a ladder at work, and fakes a neck injury for six years, and then finally gets caught for insurance fraud.
Girl 3) Married a generally decent guy.
Girl 4) Marries a guy who is never around, and then slaps her with a divorce seven years down the road and then takes custody of the children when he remarries a month after the divorce goes through.
Now, we can exclude girls 3 and 4. They managed a good relationship/had no idea that the guy was going to divorce them later on for another woman. However, girls one and two were old enough to remember their father living at home, and chose men who had those traits.
You know how they say guys want to marry women that remind them of their mother? Well, girls tend to marry guys who are a lot like their fathers.
And even if this isn't the case, if you pick a girl who likes you because you're an ass... You're going to get a girl who isn't worth your time.
Also, its worth noting, that most girls will tell you that their ex-boyfriends are assholes. That's a common way of putting distance between themselves and their failed relationships. I myself have had a fairly decent track record. I've only had one ex who I thought was a genuine jackass. The others? They were decent dudes, except the fact that we didn't mesh. Still, after we broke up... You don't think I didn't get mad about the guys? Even if I was the one who ended it? Of course I did. Its human nature.
So, I'm not going to tell you not to be a jerk. Go ahead. I mean, worst thing that could happen is that you could screw up your life and someone else's, end up broken-hearted, jaded, and genuinely turning into one of those jerks that you both seem to hate and envy.
Or... You could keep being a nice guy, and wait for a nice girl to come along and actually have a shot at a relationship.
Its really your call.

PS: Yeah, the girl 1-4 thing is true. Makes Christmas at my relatives' house oh-so-interesting.

That is a great post and oh so true.
My dysfunctional grandparents that are barely together produced;
#1 Girl marries a man who molested their 2 young daughters and went to prison, marries another guy has a son and turns to be a peeking tom on the 2 teen girls, The oldest girl (29) has had a string of bad relationships 2 kids, never married. Second daughter (27) straightened out and is doing good with hubby and 2 kids. Son (13) is very unruly and she can't keep him in school.
#2 Boy marries and has 3 daughters, not sure why they got divorced and don't know the girls that well. Married again to a "normal" woman and has another girl who is really bratty.
#3 Girl marries a physical and emotional abusive man (my dad) had 2 daughters, marries an man with split personalities but dies of cancer, soon going to be married for a third time but I think that this one is normal. I was married really young though still together after 10 years, now my sister (15) lives with me for now.
#4 Girl marries great guy who was killed in a car wreak, married another guy who just wanted her for her money, now on third long term relationship but won't get married - No Kids.
When we would have holidays together, they sometime get rather explosive... hee hee.
There usually is a fight. Motto in the house is , "He who yells the loudest, Wins!"

i thinks got somethin to do with the flooding of oxytocin or theres a chemical reaction that occurs in the brain that causes ppl to hve such intense feeling towards the opposite sex but eventually it fades so that explains why some ppls action were driven by their impulses and when they come into their senses its already too late.of course who would want to end up with the jerk unfortunately nice guys were like distinct or endagered species.when some ppl fall in love they turn a blind eye on the flaws instead they feel like their twirling and everything seems to be hazy ,they dont see and hear ppl around them and when theyre not careful enough theyre likely to stumble

I think you are confusing nice guy with wuss. Nice guys can get the ladies it is the wuss that will not. Nice guy is confident and knows what he wants a wuss is more timid and is unsure of himself which is potrayed in his actions.

I blogged about the opposite of this just a few days ago. Keep in mind that you should never lump all girls together into a stereotype, much as I shouldn't have lumped all guys together. It's a difficult World out there, and one which none of us will ever truly figure out.
