Download Our Windows 7 Tips!

I've always used tredosoft's multiple ie's rather than having individual vitual internet explorers (early versions).
However with the download of i.e. 8 I am now experciencing problems.
I get runtime errors when loading yahoo or google.
These are only loaded because they are the home page for i.e 8 and multiple ie's seems to use the default settings.
More of a problem is the fact that the ie developer toolbar has stopped working on i.e 6.

Does anybody use multiple ie's, have they experienced the same problem and if so have they found a workaround?

Alternately I could just use a standalone version i.e.6 and 5.5 I don't think earlier versions are much used - at least I don't see them in my logs.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

This isn't an answer to your question... but why are you using older versions? 6 I can understand if you're a web developer, but 5.5? 6 is even pushing it these days, it's like the web designer world subconsciously decided to give up supporting IE6 at any great lengths any more lol.

Anyway, maybe see if they have an updated version of the app. IE8 is still reasonably new and maybe they've just not had the time to get an update out yet. You're best bet is to check their forums/support section if they have such a thing. Until I read this I didn't even know this utility even existed I have to admit, although I've always assumed something like it did for developers to check their sites on many browser versions without needing several systems/user profiles for it.

Thanks for you reply,
You are quite right, I use it for web design/development along with a number of other browsers.
Most of the reason I use the earlier versions of i.e. is to check the robustness of my css as I gave up using tables some time ago.
There are still a number of people using i.e. 6 However your probably right that 5.5 is not worth bothering with.
Tredosoft have now stopped supporting multiple ie's and the forum wasn't much help which is why I thought I would try here.
