"THE RAPTURE"

As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. "Tell us," they said, "when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?"

For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Jesus answered: "Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Christ, and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.

"So if anyone tells you, 'There he is, out in the desert,' do not go out; or, 'Here he is, in the inner rooms,' do not believe it. For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.

Matthew 24:3-27

I couldn't tell you why, exactly why, I feel the way I do because it doesn't matter. I'm not going to preach you at all. I completely respect your point of view and I'm not going to try to change it. The way I am, if you and I hung out on a daily basis, you'd never know I was a Christian unless you asked me. I just don't see the point in making everyone agree with me.

The way you've presented your point is exactly the way I'm sure you'd feel if someone ran up to you and told you you're going to hell and that you're wrong. I don't know if you realize this, but you're coming off as very arrogant and the more you speak the more I want to stay where I am.

Believe me I know how you feel. I left home because I couldn't take my mother's constant preaching and telling me I'm going to hell for listening to Metallica. That kind of close mindedness only pushes people away.

Anyway despite your rude comments, I respect you. Not everyone can express themselves the way you do and not be swayed in the least. As long as you're happy, who cares.
Oh.. :( .. Why thinking it's a matter of point of view? Truth is there, it's just a question of accepting it. (And having someone showing it to us... That's the hardest part.)

"I don't know if you realize this, but you're coming off as very arrogant and the more you speak the more I want to stay where I am."
That's a very christian way to see things... "I don't want to know more; I'm good with what I believe now and leave me alone with my lies."

And yes I realize I'm a bit arrogant... but you don't realize these are all stories for kids, (or you do and you're just laughing at us... just making us believe you really believe all this.. and we're getting caught in the trap?) Which tend to make people arrogant. I don't like people laughing at me, do you?

Prove me God exist and Him and Jesus care for whatever you do/think and I'll STFU. Till then, there's no reason to believe in anything. (I know you don't want to convert me, but that's a matter of... you can't even prove it to yourself! You "feel" you are right... isn't a serious answer. People feel they have to kill other people and that doesn't make them right.)
Ok I accept it. I accept that you're being incredibly rude. I never asked you to 'stfu'. I'm not going to prove it to you because I can't and you know that. No I don't want to convert you because you are happy with your life. I don't see why you need to argue with me and insult me.
It's all just because I think it makes people soft, naive and easy to control ... and there are tons of examples of this.

Once you made people believe something like this, the hardest part is achieved. And they take us very early to be sure they don't miss*. Just, for a second, suppose the first time you heard about the Bible and everything when you were 20 or 25, or just at any age of reason. What would you have said? "You are a fucking idiot, go away." Obviously. But because they take us very early and indoctrinate us as soon as they can.. it ends up like we know it does.

The very same thing happens to those young children who are told from the very beginning that their mothers must obey them. No women has the right to tell them what to do/think or whatever. When they're 40 they still think that even though that absolutely makes no sense at all. They were taken young enough. That's exactly what happens and it takes a lot of criticism and someone has to question himself a lot to get rid of things like this. It's hard and very uncomfortable. Once this is done, you can go on with the reality which is much more complex and fascinating. I went through this.

* I don't say people STILL do it with bad intention.. It's a tradition. It became natural to do so. But now, governments and companies are taking profit. All these people who are indoctrinated, they don't conceive all the bad stuff that undergoing while they're praying. So governments and companies can do whatever they want. There are people with very twisted minds in there. And when one of them is caught, indoctrinated people think "omg how could someone think of doing something like this" and go back to their duties, while other, critical people keep searching for other twisted minds to catch. Anyway.. that's just a very low quality example, sorry. There is much more to it.
"Please stop being rude all saying things like "Do something good for others around you and go kill yourself." How does that make you better?"

Makes me better because I'm not racist, homophobic, misogynist, etc.
How do you know I'm those things? That, sir is crossing the line. I voted FOR gay marriage, my best friend is black, and calling me misogynist is just way off the mark.
You, as a christian, endorse the Bible! It's your holy book, and it preaches these values. You should therefore be racist, homophobic, misogynist. BTW, you are a girl, how in the world did you dare talking to me? .. lol

That's all just a big bad joke... Everyone will realize it someday and laugh at how crazy all that was.
If you knew anything about he Bible at all Maxime, you would know that the laws for people before Christ was born were changed. Christ took on the sins of the world when he died on the cross. That is for people who believe in Him.

If you want to be a part of this conversation, then I suggest that you clean up your attitude. No one likes to hear someone make fun of what they believe. Plus, never insult anyone on a message board unless you do not want to be a member of this site. It is highly frown on Maxime.
Quoting out of context doesn't change words or meaning. And I bet whatever you want that the people who wrote that, meant exactly every word they wrote.

Anyway, it's easy to come and say "you can make an out of context quotation mean anything you want" without giving a good example in these quotations we posted right here right now. Don't overuse already made popular sentence like this one. It just doesn't fit this time, sorry.

Let me explain to you...

Take something like "She was putting whatever, while holding her baby, in the trash."
Could be very wrongly quoted as "She was putting [...] her baby in the trash."
Oh wow, now you can say what you said.

But quotes we provided here are copy/paste from the Bible. Look for yourself. And come tell me you find what's written in there intelligent and full of sense.
ok, tell you what...
I think all Christians can agree that we are in the end of days.. the end of the 6th seal as it were...
I seriously think everyone should calm down a little. The purpose of this thread I'm thinking was one designed out of love and concern for those who don't follow the teachings of Jesus. This should not turn into a religious debate. There is no point in having religious debates on a geek forum, who do you think you're going to convert? all you're going to do is upset people.
Chill out, and to those of you who are believers in the Bible, I say rejoice, for the coming of the Lord of all men is near, and to those who do not believe, you are warned.
ROTFLMAO! "The sky is falling!"

See the analogy?
100% indoctrinated people.. they really believe these things!!! I'm .. flabbergasted.
