Hello fellow geeks!

I am thinking of taking a course in computer programming. I work full time so I am looking into long distance training, the thing is there are quite a few of these long distance - home learning schools to choose from, I wanted to know if any of you had any experience with this kind of learning and how successful were they.
In the UK where I live, there are the following companies that provide home learning courses.

Advent - Most expensive
Home Learning College
Computeach - Cheapest

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

There's also the Open University they have distance learning courses in computing and you can eventually work towards a degree if you do enough units.
I can't really help much more than that as it's something I'm still looking into myself.

Thanks a million FEB413!

Would you be able to give me some details of the Open University thing? And maybe contact details of such an open university?

I'll be very grateful!

Howard

Does anyone have experience with The Open University (http://www.open.ac.uk/) in the UK that Feb413 mentioned? Particular in computing courses

Programming is a wide field... what do you want to program? You should figure that out first, then you'll be able to see what languages you need to learn and go from there...
