Download Our Windows 7 Tips!

Hello, I am new geek.

I bought iMac last year, and I am dissapointed by it. It is good, it works, but it cant do almost anything my freiends windows PC can. Every little usefull app costs at least $25, freeware is bad, while my friend has loaded his PC with tons of freeware that actually works and can be used for something. I am sad, I have spent lots of money on my iMac, but I am not satisfied by it, I feel like I am tricked by apple. I would exchange my iMac for a decent windows vista computer anytime, but nobody wants to do it in my city :( Can you geeks help me find good apps for my iMac? I cant buy windows because my dad wont give me any more money.

Hey Chuck N,

There are tons of apps out there for Mac (free ones). The only problem is that unlike Windows freeware, its not as well known. For instance, if you want to play .mp3 files in Windows, you'd use Media player or better the commonly known Winamp. There are similar apps out there for it.
I'd hate to post a link to another forum site, but if you have any questions or queries about anything to do with macs, go the link below:

To date it remains as one of my best resources for anything to do with my mac.
Pretty sure you can find the same help from people in Geek too.

IMO I wouldn't trust Vista for anything. The Mac has more potential than Vista, unless you're an extreme gamer. If so, use boot-camp and install Windows on a separate partition. On a further note, Windows XP would be a better choice should you decide to do so. Vista faces so many challenges, even for gaming (especially network gaming and stuff).

I installed Red Faction Guerilla on my bootcamp windows 7 and it works perfectly! As for Need for Speed Shift, I really want to get it! I think it'll really fine! As for the freeware and other apps, can't help you there :( Sorry.
