I need a little help

I have a laptop( acer 5100) and the screen is cracked so im using a monitor. and i want to run dual screens. and i have heard that i can use a usb vga.Will i be able to use this?

Just think of it just like hooking up another device to your USB port - your camcorders, webcams and digital cameras all work fine; so should a monitor with its own power source work fine.
