I only use the radio function in iTunes.
Well, I have actually bought some MP3´s from the store as well.
But that was a long time ago.

iTunes on Windows is a piece of crap, but on OS X it is definitely better (and this is from somebody who has only used OS X on a 400MHz iMac >.>)

iTunes is the only mac app that I get the beach ball of death on. Very slow, do any mac users have alternatives that they like?

Uh? I have all my music on iTunes, and it's running perfectly smooth...
I have to admit, that I hated it on XP and Vista, but on Leopard, everything is fine...
I'm also a huge fan of the iTunes store. I buy nearly every song there, even though the quality isn't that great (I mean 128kBit/sec could be better)...

I don't have a problem with using iTunes on xp. Yes, I can definitely see what you guys mean when you say its unorganized; maybe it could do with a good album lister or something, but for me - I always have it on shuffle so its not a problem. The search function is lightning fast, and the program itself takes no time to load. It works alright for me just sitting on my 2nd screen :)

iPods are great, we all know that =]
I agree that iTunes could be a bit annoying sometimes. eg, mine's all highlighted pink atm, and I HATE pink so much. It's annoying.

The DRM thing is down to the record companies, not Apple. They just have to include DRM on their files to keep them happy so they can carry on selling their music. Steve Jobs himself met with bosses of the big record labels and asked them to let iTunes sell them without DRM. Only EMI have agreed to this as far as I know, which is a step in the right direction because EMI are the largest of the "Big Four".
