So all of this cold weather has really got me thinking about warmer places! (mainly Hawaii, my favorite place ever!) When I went there 2 summers ago, I didn't have my iPhone yet and just had a simple razr where I made an occassional phone call and/or text. I purposely didn't bring my lap top, because lets face it...it's HAWAII. There were much better ways for me to be spending my time. My family is getting ready to plan another vacation soon and now that I have my iPhone I just feel like I want to leave it home or something. I kind of like the whole out of touch feel you get when being on vacation and just leaving everything behind and then having it to come back to. I dont know. I think it just depends on where I'm going. Like if I'm just traveling to NY to visit family, or even down to Florida or something, I think I'd bring my computer even just to have that as something to do at night or whatever. i don't know. In Hawaii, I needed nothing :) haha How do you guys feel about that? Do you always need to stay in touch with the online world when you go away? Just curious!

Well....to answer the question directly...I don't know. I don't go on vacation, ever. And a lot of my "fun-time" projects and enjoyments are for other people I meet online. So keeping in touch with others online is essential for me. Otherwise I finish something and then....have to wait until I can get back online to transmit it and get feedback for improvements.

So I need to stay in touch. However staying in touch itself is not important if you don't need it. If ever there is a lull in what people ask me to do I enjoy nothing more than going outside, sitting in the snow and enjoying a good book. (by the by, anything over 50 degrees is too warm for me. So yes I am a freak.)

I wouldn't leave home without my Sony Erricson W800i, whether I'm going on vacation or just to buy groceries at the Super. It's like a lifeline I'm holding just in case something happens. Besides, it's also a cool MP3 and video player.

I've always carry something wiht me when i'm going to vacations. For example, this year, for Chistmas, i've received an iPod Touch 2G, and now i can't go out without it!

When I am holiday I like to forget about technology for a while although I mostly carry my iPod with me and my phone :)

Take care.

I only bring my DS and books.

Surprisingly enough, I don't need to be on the internets. So I have gone for stretches without going online.

Some people just can't go for a long period of time without catching up on the internet!

I guess that counts as your wife being a photography geek. She isn't a *hardcore geek like most of us right?

*Hardcore Geek means something like this:
40 THz Intel Dual-Quad-Xtreme i10 processor (not oc'd)
100 TB DDR7 RAM
1000 PB (petabyte) Liquid-State HDD
nVidia 98000000 GTX GPU
5 million watt power supply
Note: This will be obsolete by 2018.

Cameras are always a great thing for vacation though! I don't consider that geeky at all! :)

On vacation I always take my Laptop, my Blackberry, and my Digital Camera. I also always had an 8 GB USB Drive in my pocket. I have since graduated to a 32 GB USB Drive but I haven't been on vacation since I purchased it. I can't believe that the 32 GB Drive is smaller in size compared to the 8 GB Drive.
