I saw this coming a few years back, and I knew for sure that they would try it once I researched their Wave technology. It became very apparent to me at that point that their plans were to incorporate all their technology such as search, picasa, web apps, wave, widgets, gmail etc. into one big OS.
Breaking News: Google has confirmed their plans to offer OS.
come on people google is evil!! you geeks should no the cons of google thye sell our info for£££-$$$ they bombarded us with advertisements.. i remember when google first started they promised us they wouldn't do any of that they do now.. false promises if they do bring out an os i will defiantly hack the sh*t out of it and seed it for life!! lol free for all lol
I must admit that I don't like the idea of Google making their own operating system. I think Google is growing way too fast and becoming way too big. I'm sure it'll be a great OS, but I still think they've already gone too far. We'll see how it goes I suppose, but I suspect it won't be that popular.
As for my thoughts on Google Chrome as a browser, I don't like it. I don't know why, but I never did. It just feels too minimalistic and I found it difficult to find even the most basic features at times. Applying that to an operating system, well, I just don't like the idea.
I'm definitely going to try this out when it comes out! I don't know about making it my default OS, but maybe just for something to fool around with in a virtual machine.
having looked into this more is linux based not only thats but all programs in this google os is online based.. so internet connection is crucial most users need more powerful programs Microsoft have nothing to worries about and they no it..
