Reviews, News, and How To Geeks

The great thing about Geeks is that you have so many things to do here. So many options for those of us who are severely A.D.D. and constantly bounce from one thing to another.
I appreciate the efforts some of the geeks go through here to make their homepages about them.

I gotta say though, that the one thing that sends me running and screaming away from someones page is their need to autoplay whatever music they like for you. In some cases it is really not that good, and I will forgo reading anything about that person if some ridiculous tune starts to pierce my ear.
That said, there is also the option to allow your visitors the option to play or not to play your tunes. That I believe is the reason why this tool exists.
If you really want people to read about you and look at your pics and so on, please consider their ears. What you love, they may not. Give them the choice to listen, don't ram it down their throats... Just a thought.

There is a "Pause Button" on the players. The first thing that I look for when I arrive at any other person's page is the "Music Player". I usually let it start and then if I like the tune then I let it play. If I do not like the tune then I click on "Pause". I do not find this to be that difficult.

Well, the Auto-play annoys a lot, but is just turn off the sound of the page.

haha yea.. its stupid to assume that most likes your music.. thats why i had music paused too.. but now its autoplay bcus theres some ambient/soundtrack songs which fit more for background music and arent that loud..

Some calm music is okay on auto-play, but a heavy metal isn't so okay.

I'd have to agree. As someone new to the site, trying to find where the music player to turn it off can be aggravating. :)

No matter how much I want people to hear my songs, I will still not have it autoplay. .. and with my luck, it's probably set to autoplay because of a mis-click. I better go check. :D
