As more people become tech savvy, do you think that the computer systems will give increased functionality, and so become more complex and harder to operate?
Or do you think that we are heading in another path where functionality is lost in favour of software that is easy to use.
I ask because a couple of days ago I was confronted by a girl at college (she does hair and beauty and I do I.T), she asked me how us "Geeks" coupe with all the tech stuff. We talked and she told me how she can't even remember how to open a word document.
I use Firefox, because it's easier to use than Internet Explorer and the other browsers I've tried. Add-ons are useful to have, especially Adblock Plus.

Both compters and software are certainly becoming easier to use. What doesn't make sense to me is how even though things are getting easier, yet we can do more with them. It might get to the point where in order to increase functionality, we need to decrease ease of use.
I have knowledge of six computer software language. for it i select other that means i accept we can make software easily .
Thank you. caravans--caravans
No. I've been into computers since I was 6. Since then, software has become more and more cut-down and basic, sacrificing functionality for noob-friendliness. I say let the noobs struggle; I did, and I'm quite a bit cleverer than your average "lol computers u mean myspace lol internet" person who joined computing when it became popular and never advanced beyond noobership.
I agree, even though I started computing around 1999, so I was never experience operating a DOS system, but it is obvious that all programs are easier to work with these days then in the past to appeal to the "casual" users.
The same problem can be found in the gaming industry ,too.
Yes, it can be found in the gaming industry. I, personally, hate the mainstream. It's a very good business move of the games companies' part, but I can't help but resent all those "games? oh, you mean Wii Fit! Hahaha!" people.
Well quite simply software functionality is i think about as good as it can get for example i am not entirely sure what i want to do in word that i can't currently do???
and the ease of use is already dummied down so hard that old people can use computers with fair enough ease making the introduction of software will i believe continue with the same functionality and ease of use.
The part that i think will change will be HCI "human computer interaction" as currently there is the most common interface of keyboard and mouse there are other available but not with the same functionality and ease of use so its not the software that i think companys will concentrate on it will be HCI or the hardware side of things.
I did see a while ago now this gaming interface it was a glove i think and you move it around and touch fingers together to preform different tasks it was interesting.
So in conclusion no they will not become harder to operate or easier to use by much degree in the near future
and what can you expect from a hair and beauty pupil in terms of being tech savvy?

I agree that in time there will be a change in the way humans control computers but i can't see the keyboard and mouse going out of style for a long time.
Reason for this is because most things that come out have a "gimmick" feel to them, I have yet to see anything that will make me want to ditch the keyboard and mouse. Like they say, "if it aint broke, don't fix it"
