I found this in a news article and it reminded me of the tales told, when I was a child. It was said that there was a snake in the area, that was so big, that it could swallow a cow. Of course, as time went by, the story grew and grew as most folk tales do.
Finally it was told that it could swallow a tractor. Have yáll had tales like that told where you grew up? :D
Borneo Monster: Villagers fear recent photos show a legendary 100 foot-long serpent winding down a river in the remote Asian nation of Borneo. Critics say the images appear to have been digitally edited or show something else. This picture was reportedly snapped from a helicopter by a member of a flood monitoring team.

Cool pictures, I know of documented snakes over 45 ft. But the idea of a 100 ft. one makes one think that it may be possible - stranger things have happened.
I have seen photos before of huge snakes. Not that I remember how big they were.
In a place where they roam freely, I suppose one could grow that big. Hey, they don't have a chance in our country since it is so populated. But is places like that or the jungle, hey, we just don't know.
I was told of a similar tale in my childhood. Wow, has it been that long?
Anyway, Bren, I think since most of the people responding are babies compared to you and me, it is important to tell the story well.
My story involved these two boyscouts who went deep into the jungle in search of missing scouts and ultimately got lost in a cave. With their flashlights in hand, they were able to explore the insides of the very peculiar cave. First, they came across a large white post sticking from the roof of the cave...like a stalactite. Then, the cave emitted some kind of weird smell, and when they touched the sides, it almost felt sticky and soft...as if it were alive. This didn't stop them for looking for their pals who were still lost amid a nagging rumour or buzz that they were ultimately swallowed by a gigantic snake. Of course, this was only a rumour and no one really knew. So they went even further.
The story ends in that the cave they actually entered was the humongous mouth of an open-mouthed snake, readily accepting unsuspecting victims and when they reached the very end of the snake's tail, they were ulitmately devoured. It was a dark corridor to their doom.
Oh well, I guess the only difference in our stories is that my snake is bigger and badder than yours...being able to eat two boyscouts without first being noticed. hehehe
