Just a few short days ago, we posted news that one of our community members, Gerald Smith, had been missing from his college campus for several days. There were many searches conducted, to no avail. We asked all of you to help spread the word - and you came through beautifully.
Our heartfelt prayers, wishes, thoughts, strength and condolences go out to Gerald's friends, family and classmates at this time. I know I speak on behalf of the ENTIRE Geeks and Lockergnome family when I say that.
You may leave your condolences in this thread. Perhaps Gerald's mom and family will draw some strength, knowing Gerald was cared about, and a part of a large and loving family here.
RIP friend. Our deepest thoughts and condolences are with you and your family and anyone that knew him. I know how it feels to have people that mattered to you a lot be taken away from you in a flash. May God give you the strength and patience through this difficult time.
Here is a verse to help sooth the lost loved one...
"He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust." - Psalm 91:1-2
Gerald Smith was a loving individual with a great heart. I knew him from Geeks and have chatted with him more then once. He also came to my live video stream and we chatted, so I know his sense of Humor. He will be missed by me, along with 100's of others here on Geeks. My thoughts, prayers, and love goes out to Gerald and his family.
This really makes my heart hurt. :( Just knowing that someone has died is horrible enough, but for it to be someone who was so young and was a part of our community, it truly is a great loss.
I hope Gerald's family is able to pull through this, and my heart goes out to each and every one of his family members. My prayers are with you, and I know your son is in a better place, now.
Oh Gerald, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I remember reading your profile info and seeing the binary stuff and thinking to my self, hmmm, that's binary? How do you keep up with that and figure it out! HaHa.. I do lack those fabulous geekie qualities that you were blessed with and have with you in the heavens of geekdom above. I know you have been a blessing and inspiration to many and will continue wonderful things in a wonderful place. I will continue to keep you and your family in my prayers.
my condolences to the family and his friends, classmates and those that knew him, i hope he finds peace on the other side rest in peace Gerald the community will miss you
