Can you survive without Microsoft Office?

I was wondering..what if someday, Microsoft said they were going to discontinue all the Microsoft Office products, and they would deactivate all the product on this world in any means. What will happen to you if this kind of thing really happen? Would you turn to open source office suite, such as Open Office?

Plus I have been using OpenOffice since version 1.0 all the way back in 2002 side by side with Microsoft Office 97 and up. And I still have my aging Corel WordPerfect Office 2002 if worse comes to worse. And I think that AbiWord 2.7.4 is everybody's favorite free / standalone word processor. And Gnumeric 1.9.8 for a free / standalone spreadsheet program.

And there is also the free OxygenOffice Professional 3.0.1.3, which is a variant of OpenOffice. Think of it as OpenOffice on sterroids.
