I turned to OpenOffice ages ago. I didn't have any issues with the switch.

I've already been doing this for years. Since I don't require any sorts of complex document creation things, OpenOffice or even Abiword tend to work just fine for my needs.

MO is sooo easy compared to what some of us had to use way back then. Try using word perfect 5.1 for Dos you know the one with the blue screen and white letters. Now that was difficult.
Stuff today people don't know how easy it is.
I had someone the other day complain about how they didn't want to use office 2007 because the ribbon is so different now. Lord, they wanted office 2003 because it was easier to find the print button on 2003. Shouldn't we all want to progress in life. Bunch of Tards!!

I use MO 2007 now.
So, Can I survive without it? yes. Would I want to? No. Hey, theirs always notepad.

I haven't used any MS Office products since I stopped working as an admin asst. I don't miss them. I remember using WordStar years ago. Now I like plain text versus anything else. If I have to use a word processor I go with something simple I find in freeware. I have Open Office but it is just as clunky and complicated as MS Word ever was.

I would miss it, but then I would just go to open source programs.

I have been using Open Office pretty steady since 2005. Before that Wordperfect, Quattro Pro, and the Lotus suite prior to that. MS word and Office has been something that I used because it was a forced issue only. Never because I needed it though.

For me all I really need is a simple word processor and a simple spreadsheet and thats it, so anything works for me, I've used open office, and my eee pc came with microsoft works, but yea, I would be, and am ok with out it lol.
