I just did a first screen cast with Cam studio, it was about 4 minutes long. when I ended it it was 120mb in size! For being a four minute video it should have been 30 to 50mb in size. Any ideas on this? I was not doing a shot of my whole screen (1680x1050) but rather a region.
When you downloaded it wht setting yours in because when I recod it keep cutting my voice off in the beginning of speaking and I tried all methods I know.
Ok, first of all, if I make a screencast for YouTube, I set the screen reolution to 1280 x 720
Less data to compress since YouTube like to have the resolution in 1280 x 720 and in MP4 format.
I also record HD-material with my digital camera that records HD in 1280 x 720.
The camera (Canon IXUS 110IS) saves the files in QuckTime format.
2 minutes and 30 seconds will be 450 MB of HD-video.
If I compress that with Camtasia Studio to MP4 format, it would be like 40 MB (instead of 450 MB)
The thing is that you got to have QuickTime Pro installed so that Camtasia Studio can recognize the file and compress the file that much without bad video quality.
