BoinxTV Firewire DV Capture Quality

I came across one of Chris' green screen news videos, and I saw that it
was chroma keyed within the program BoinxTV. I've been learning how to
use this program over the past week, but I'm having trouble getting a
clear cut key.

What kind of equipment did you use to shoot the video? Did you capture
it live through BoinxTV? Does anybody else have experience with this?
