I have installed on Microsoft Virtual PC, the Windows 7 beta build 7000. The only problem is I can't get audio when I try to watch a video from YouTube. Does anyone know what I could possibly do? Is there a driver I could download?

my windows 7 beta also has audio problems. Well the system audio works, it install my sound card drivers automatically, but when i play a game, or try to use slingbox the audio does not come through. i was thinking to try and disable the onboard sound card and try again, but that doesnt seem to make sence because the system sound works, just not in my desired application.. Just starting to look into it.. No audio is a deal breaker, if i cant get it to work soon, i'll just go back to vista.

I found a button in control panel, search for problems. And i selected my PCI card, it did something, and when finished it said fixed. device not set as default. Now my sound works in my apps!... i guess i will keep windows 7 beta around for a little longer...
Please elaborate to this. I have the same problem. I load up a game, the intro sound doesn't work, but the menu and ingame sounds ( guns, yelling, explosions) work. The mission briefing sound cut-scene doesn't work. Is it DivX? I've tried this game (Frontlines : Fuel of War) on Vista and the audio is fine, but I want to be able to play it on Windows 7. My audio drivers are up to date.
I found that relying on out-of-the-Windows-box software will lead to disappointing results. Instead, try your Vista drivers or the latest from your audio-board manufacturer.

What's your chip or audio controller ?
How old is your pc ?
What does messing around in device manager do ?
What does Windows update say ?
You should use the send feedback button about this so that Microsoft can get you a compatible driver.
I agree with 9swords. Because you are running it using Virtual PC it will never have sound. You need to install it properly and install your sound driver as well.
is this issue over? i just switch from xp to win7. i did not try vista coz i heard a lot of problems and compatibility issues, and when i heard about win7 updated version of vista and read a lot of good comments about it i just tried and amaze about it but had some prob on audios but solved it immediately because of the ff link:
