Windows Vista is not that bad of a operating system, In my opinion I like Windows Vista over Windows XP. I have never had any major problems with Vista.

Wait another three years for all of the software to catch up and actually be compatible or you could save yourself the headaches and just buy a mac. The only problems that I've heard about vista are from driver issues which should (eventually) be sorted out. I could use it for a home computer if I had a copy of it.

Vista is a better os then what it was when it came out. I still don't like to use it because i always seem to mess it up. But once it is tweak enough it is almost reliable.
Well it is only an other name of trash bucket which consumes too much space for its un wanted files on HDD as well as on RAM . And Vista runs 111 frames per second (fps) as well as XP 160 fps, It normally takes 25-30 seconds to shut down, as well as Xp takes 5 to 10 seconds to shut down.
MIcrosoft has spent millions of $ for its advertisement all over the world. But now windows users waiting for Windows Vienna ( win 7) to launch and expecting less system requirements as compare to vista but more efficient than xp and vista.
Because of Vista I have made the following life changes: I use Ubuntu or any Linux Distro on as many computers as possible, constantly clean the disks and defrag them on my Vista Laptop, have learned quite a bit more about hacking OSs, want to replace my Zune with something Linux compatible like an iPod....never thought I'd say that, and have a strict hatred for Windows.
Vista is historically one of Microsoft's biggest flops. They haven't seen embarrassment like this since they released ME. If you look back through their releases you'll see that there was a spike in system requirements with both ME and Vista. I usually state it as, those who don't really use their computers to the full potential of their hardware will have no problem with Vista. Those who want to need to switch to Linux.
Vista isn't that bad on my laptop that came with it pre-installed. I think when people have issues with Vista is when it's on a machine that didn't have Vista-compatible drivers or it's one they built themselves. I know that's not an excuse, but to me it sounds like that's more of the issue. I haven't had many issues, although I have had the BSOD twice
I like Vista BUT it's very hard for my PC even if i have a dual core 3.0Ghz and 2 GB Ram uses to much,
I tested Windows 7 and i can say it's better then vista so i'm waiting for Windows 7
