I am actually not such a dog fan, but if, then my favorite would be a Golden Retriever and a Beagle.

Chihuahua because they make excellent guard dogs. Those little guys are ferocious. Once they chomp down on your finger they stay on.

I more like a real Wolf but to stay with dog's my fav 's are :
Siberian Husky
Golden Retriever

and had a Doberman

I don't care for the personality traits of wolves they are definitely different from dogs...show up one day with a limp and they will turn on you - they are not domesticated and it is instinct to attack any other animal showing sign of weakness. I know this from a friend that owned two wolves - had them for years and they seemed bonded but he got injured and went to feed them and was attacked.
