I learnt what I needed for my two MCSE's online if that helps :)

It was not free though. I'd also be interested in some free courses.

Take care.

Getting the Microsoft Press books seem to do the trick for me. Just practice and read the material and you should be ready to take any certification given enough time.

I think the key thing is not to be afraid to take the test, most people get scared that they will fail and never end up taking the test in the end. Yes we all fail sometimes, but thats how we learn....

Thank you everybody for comments and opinions, I forgot to mention that I also attended a HP course about Printers and Computers and as General Mills said I was affraid to take the test, but that was many years before, Now I really don't hesitate to take test and I don't remember where I failed for the last time, so self-assurance is very important.

I've heard that depending on your college/university experience Microsoft does allow some IT certifications to be taken online.

My university's library offers an online source through their website that has over 10,000 text books...included in those is atleast 3 study books for every IT cert currently out there. I studied off of that for my A+ and Network + and im working on the MCSE's study material know. Check the local libraries, maybe they have something.
