I have been using Vista since it was first released and have not had any issues with it. I built my machine to spec so that I would not have any hardware issues. I don't know why people keep complaining, I swear that no one likes change anymore.
Well I never took notice of what other people say, I always try it myself before I take final judgment. And I upgraded to windows Vista Ultimate SP1 recently and all the things people say about it is really a load of BS. I haven’t had a single problem with compatibility and I have notices about a 30% speed increase in my internet (the USB adapter I have) and the speed of the OS.
For me Vista is a real success story, and I think it is now my favourite OS. Have a good one!

In my opinion and experience, Windows Vista was in no means "fun and easy to use". When I had Vista, one day would not go buy without a problem, constant BSODs and hardware/software compatibility issues. This was before SP1 came out. I held on to Vista waiting or the "glorious" SP1, and when SP1 came, I was surprised to find that I had lost some compatibility with software and hardware. I really do not think Windows Vista was quite ready for market, and I understand how much money MS lost by holding off Vista's release, but I think that if they held it off a bit longer and fixed some of the major issues, then more people would buy. Every person that I have provided technical support for on Windows Vista has had a different problem, because there are so many different problems and it's kind of hard to diagnose sometimes. I respect other's feelings, but as of now, I think Apple is beating Microsoft in the Operating System industry.
No, Vista is good, after SP1 got better, it doesn't rules, and isn't bad, is ok, like any another OS out there, Vista is more for home use, and XP for professional use.

When I first stated working for this company, the laptop I received came with Vista, and it took about 2 months before I formatted and went back to XP. The main issue was the amount of resources Vista used. The other is how many programs were not compatable with vista, and I couldnt' find a suitable alternative. If your someone who is just gonna surf the web and send email or play on myspace, then it doesn't matter. But for anything else, its a pain.
