I enjoyed Windows 2000; however, its time has passed. I think Windows XP still has its place, Windows Vista, is um getting better I guess and Windows 7 to early to tell. Just my 4.25 cents for what its worth.
I liked and despised them all in their own ways, i just installed Vista 64-bit so i will reserve judgment for a future date bur so far i have had no issues with any of my software or hardware driver problems.
I bought a cheap notebook a couple of years back, it's an Acer Aspire 4315 & it comes with Vista Home & a 7200RPM SATA Drive, as well as a Dual Core P4 & after upgrading the ram it has 2 gigs, So I feel I'm qualified to say that I gave Vista a fair chance & I'll tell You what I like how Vista looks too !
But after a year of BSOD's due to driver inavailability plus the lagg it puts on the entire user experience, I decided to make a Recovery DVD & wipe both partitions on the drive & proceeded to downgrade to XPproSPIII & now it acts more like I'd think it should act.
Another thing is when you take into consideration that many many Vista user's are disabling UAC because it's too damn bothersome for them to mess with, there's really not much of a security deference after that is there?
