Yeah, that would be awesome. I know, what about the basic Windows Vista idea but with a Unix command structure that didn't crash so much, that would rock! It's not going to happen though.

but with windows you dont need to ues unix comards thas why people like it but if it was unix based you would so it would not be that good

They should pretty much just go back to XP, plus add the extra DVD functionality.

I think he means being able to play DVD's from square one instead of requiring 3rd party support. It wasn't such a smart idea in XP as it could potentially be a security risk. They could have at least offered a free plug in to allow the ability if the anti-trust folk got pissy lol.

So far i haven't had any problems with Vista other than the constant asking for permission crap. I hate that.

Personally, i would be fine with out the pretty graphics; in fact, make it so my computer can run faster with it. aka take away all the pretty.

I heard they were reworking User Account Control so that it doesn't bug the user when he or she installs a program, just when an executable starts by itself.

I think they should make a basic version (for all the regular users like myself), and a server or a "premium" version for people that have way too much money to spend. :-)

I say have 2 versions just like Windows XP did

Windows 7 Home edition
Windows 7 Professional
