I was just watching a video on youtube about Google Chrome because i wanted to see what all the fuss was about. the more i watched the more i could not believe how Google completely copied Apples "Safari" web browser. I would like to know your opinions on it.

The thing about Chrome is that each tab is a separate process, sandboxing each page so it doesn't necessarily take down the whole browser. Other than that, is really is just another webkit browser. Not bad though... I'll be interested to see which is the better route to preventing crashes: each tab is a separate process as Chrome does, or isolating plug-in's (That means you Flash!) so they don't take down the browser like Safari 4 in Snow Leopard does.

Well to tell the truth I completely agree.. Google did copy them and a good bit from Firefox and IE 8 BUT they did go into partnering with both company's so there is a possibility they helped with in the process but no one knows... till there is more info leaked based on what this company is doing no one will know. I personally thing google should have sucked it up and made their own browser based on their OWN coding and design rather then someone elses but that's just me...

Now, we all know that's never going to happen. Google is all about copying what works best. That's how the entire search engine started. They noticed people liked search engines but didn't like certain aspects of them and thus made a generic engine with a few changes. Overtime, though, it has grown into one of the best web-based search engines. There is nothing saying Google won't pull off the same thing with Chrome. It is starting as a generic browser with a few changes. Input is everything, and the more people use Chrome, the more input they get and the better the browser will become.

Actually, Google Chrome didn't copy Safari. If it did, they'd have the same name. [/smartasscomment]

I use Google Chrome and Fire Fox.
I like the speed of them and the add-ons as well.
Many things copy many things. Everyone is guilty of copying.
Every idea, thought, statement has repeated itself. History repeats itself.
Plus, in your opinion it is a copy of Safari. But to others it may not be.
You can only say that because you are accustomed to Safari.
And the only way you can truly criticize the browser, is if you have used both thoroughly.
Just hearing someone/seeing someone elses experience, cannot truly be served as your own to build an accurate opinion.
But even so, your opinion doesn't state fact.

To be honest, if you don't like something. Don't use it. That's my motto.
If you don't like a web browser, don't use it unless you are required to.
We all have our own preferences and certain things are designed for certain things.
And we should just use what's best for us and our activities.

I prefer Google Chrome and Safari both.
They're both cool, sleek, fast, modern, futuristic and hassle-free.
ANYTHING is better than IE.

I HATE sufari it's ugly and clunky. I have been wishing for a minimalistic browser since forever and I am glad Google finally did it.

Firefox used to be minimalistic but now it's feature over-packed, clunky, junk. And thanks for all that extra security that confuses the shit out of all my clients.

Google Chrome has copied some parts of Safari but there are parts of its interface that are different from each other by far but they're both decent web browsers :)
