1st gen or 2nd gen Ipod Touch? (Jailbreak or new features?)

I am looking to get an iPod Touch 8gb or 16gb and Im not sure if I wanna get 1st or 2nd gen.. I want that speaker and volume control and the faster processor but I REALLY want to jailbreak because I mess with all my devices like PSP's and phones and stuff..
So I could get a refurbished 1st gen from apple for $179 or a new 2nd gen for $229
I dont know what to go for =\

Or look for a used one of either.
I just dont know which to get!

Jailbreak or have the volume control, speaker and faster processor

Anyone got any ideas? =D

Permalink Reply by zach on December 4, 2008 at 3:53pm: 1st gen jailbroken.... i wish i had never upgraded, idk if there is a way to go back but i dont feel like messing with it that much, the jailbroken 1.1.4 firmware was so awesome, so many apps and games that you just dont have in the app store, i used to play with my ipod touch alot and every day, now i go for a week or two without messing with it...., but yes i like the built in speaker and hardware buttons of the new ones...; ▶ Reply to This

But 2.2 can be jailbroken but sadly the 2nd gen iPod Touch CANNOT be jailbroken yet.. It might in the future thats the problem.. If it cant at all then I will go for the 1st gen but if it can later on I might go with that.
