While watching the food channel tonight, there was a show on all about hamburgers.

According to the Cattleman's Association, there are 13 million hamburgers sold a year.

Now, I am thinking that they are basing that info on how many are sold to restaurants. That would not include the ones that are made in homes or out on the grill.

A little tid bit of info. The hamburger bun was first invented by a guy names Walter Anderson in 1916. He later went on to open the White Castle in 1916. Yáll know about the little square burgers.

The question is: What is your favorite way to have your hamburgers?

Do yáll like cheese, onions, lettuce, tomatoes or just plain like my grandson?

If you go out to eat a burger, who do you think has the best burger in town?

Does anyone remember the little guy in the photo ?

How cool Greg. You knew the answer. Glad you didn't give it away.

I bet the younger people on here do not know.

What a cheese hamburger ! Do you suppose it was made as a birthday cake. :D

And now for something completely disgusting: Canned Cheeseburger
And it will even last a year - Oh the freshness...???!!! Can't you wait to bite into one of these...???!!!
"It tastes... not so good. Very bland, kind of like pre-made tomato sauce and a bitter aftertaste."

Look Out Here It Comes!!!

Yuck Greg. Please tell me that you didn't buy that? Please....

Hey YLMS, what is the name of the famous poorboy in New Orleans?

A Muffaleta? I know it isn't spelled right but that is as close as can come.

I have had one but I can't remember how to spell it.

No I did not. This "beast in a can" is made in Germany for camping trips. You actually heat it up by boiling the can in water. I just added it to the post for shock value - and hopefully the most oddest one.

Greg had to mess with us.

Yep, that is it. There was this place in the Quarters where I had one. It was this old long narrow building. It seems that the sign said it was the place where the muffaletta was first made.

I am not sure of course but I bet you know YFMS.

Now that's what I call shock value. It ranks right up there with canned corned beef and smoked spam. Aren't you just a little bit curious which beast tastes the best...? Cringe... Gag... Cough...

I saw Ultimate Recipe Showdown the other day and the competition was all about hamburgers, but according to your tidbits, sounds like you were either watching Good Eats or Unwrapped.

I got a working recipe for a grilled shrimp burger. Still a work in progress so no recipe card yet, but here is a pic:

If I'm out and in need of a good burger, I' going to a place called Schoops.
