Personally, I have two wireless networks in my house, one newer Apple Airport Extreme Draft N, and another, older, Linksys wireless G, What does your home network look like? Why is it important for you to have it configured that way? Any tips for someone that is starting or wants to start a home network? What are the best brands? Comments Welcome
I have a Linksys WRT300N and a Netgear WGT624 v3. I have my internet attatched to the Netgear router which serves my entire house except for one room at the end of my house, which happens to be my home office. So I I ran a custom made cat5E cable the whole length of my house into my home office where I setup my Linksys WRT300N and connected the internet. I chose to make my fancy new expensive N router my secondary one, because it had half the range of my cheap bargin bin router. The Linksys works great only in one room, where as the Netgear had good range and can reach out and touch 90% of the house with good stability and speed.
Jeez, why not go with one Airport Extreme or Time Capsule and get it over with? If your house is so big that you need boostering, get one or two Airport Expresses. I carry my Time Capsule back and forth between my MN and CA condos ... no strain and no pain.
My house has a separate router and access piont. The router is Netgear, and it works like heaven with our Belkin access point... Sometimes it's a bit buggy, but I can fix it now. My dad had to teach me how to... -brick'd-
