Okays

Present setup

At home a decent XP desktop with a 19"ws

For out and about, a MacBook 2.4 in white.

I'm thinking about replacing the whole kit and caboodle with just one new MacBook Pro.

At home it would a have a laptop cooler permanently in place with a power supply, a apple keyboard, + a MS mouse and the connector for the 19" monitor.

Just plonk in on the cooler, connect the power, monitor and USB for the keyboard, ready to go.

The MBP will be dual booted (OSX + XP)

Basically a dual screen 15" and 19" home setup.

And at work the same Laptop cooler and MS mouse setup I have now at work.

What do you think ?

Good, or just plain silly.

depends on your set up at home. If a new macbook pro would be considered an upgrade, then its a fine idea. It's your decision...

What are the specs on your machine? 'decent' can mean anything... It also effects the sell price if you do sell the machine.

If you did make the switch to Mac you would NOT regret it. But you could still have the XP machine as primary and have the MBP or MB just as a laptop like Chris has his.
