It looks like they are trying to say that
1.They don't use Mac
2.They are cool too
3.They are not selling anything is just a response to Mac Adds

I'm a PC too.. lol

I think its number 3:, which is a waste of money. But since it is Microsoft I guess its not that much of a waste. Kinda nice to see ole Bill still rooting the company on.

They are awesome at gaming and do stuff that MACS don't.

At the begging of the commercial they show someone who looks a lot like the Mac commercial "Windows Guy". He said, "I'm a PC and I have been made into a stereotype", since Mac was trying to play Windows off as the computer for nerds by using an extremely nerdy looking person and matching him up with a 20 year old actor. The rest of the commercial goes on to show that people of all race and personal preferences are proud to be using a Windows by saying, "I use windows, do I look like the PC guy?"

The commercial, while no worse than the annoying Mac ads, seemed completely BS to me. It showed a bunch of people in Africa saying they are PCs when in reality most African schools can't afford windows and use linux. Then the dude saying he is a human being made it seem like MS was trying to rip off Ubuntu or something (Linux for human beings). Just made me laugh. They are trying sooo hard. XD

That's the right way to look at it.

For starters I think it's about time M$ did that for PC. I'm so tired of those annoying Mac commercials. Honestly as an avid computer user I experience very few problems with my PC. Windows only crashes or sucks if you don't maintain your computer properly (ie: frequent reformatting), in which case even Mac or Linux are vulnerable to the same type of problems. All that fancy animation on Mac's is so distracting. Mind you those bubblle looking buttons on XP are no better which is why I resort to simple Windows 95 styling. :P

Anyways, I think the "I am PC" is basically saying...no matter how much Mac advertises most people still use PC's and quite effectively.

It doesn't relate to their products but seeing as Windows runs probably upwards of 90% of PC market share...it makes sense for them to advertise that, as opposed to Red Hat or other OS company.

I guess you can't win em' all...cause apparently those Mac commercials have convinced a lot of people of their worth and yet they ostracize others just as much each time those commercials are played. :)

Down with Mac...
Down with Mac...
Down with Mac...

Just teasing :)

Cheers :)

They tried advertising, sort of. Remember Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld?

Linux and OSX doesn't suffer the same failings as Windows in reguards to fragmentation and cluttering your drive up with unneeded crap. You can buy a Mac and it'll run as fast in 10 years time as it did the day you bought it without having to format it.

Mac's and Linux don't get file fragmentation like Windows. Check how fragmented your drive is on Windows after installing a few apps and moving things around, you'll be shocked and quite disgusted. Mac's and Linux do fragment, but it's physical fragmentation from the age of the drive more than file system fragmentation. You can run Linux for like 5 years non stop on the same install and get around 15% fragmentation, you'd get double that in Windows in just a month quite easily.

They are referring to themselves as PC's just as in the Apple commercials Apple referes to Microsoft as PC's.

At least Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld aren't in them, but what are they truly trying to say with theses commercials. Aren't we all using PC's.
