Patrick: if you have issues with the chat then you should go to wylderyde.org as they have forums there.
Also is there a particular opinion you have or a reason for starting this topic? a one line topic does not explain your opinion or start a conversation well at all. For future reference expound on your topic and explain why you started it.

I never said the conversation is not valuable but to be honest it really is not the place for it. You never even explained why you started this topic or your opinion of it which makes any topic easier for your audience to discuss.
I don't know why this isn't the place for it, can you point me to where the set of rules on appropriate content for geek.com are? Are you a moderator here, if so let me know and I will be glad to go elsewhere.
My point was just to get other's opinions, watching over the last several months I have seen some moderators that I thought we a bit unfair, but when you have morons typing the same thing over and over again, I can certainly understand how it happens.
Some food for thought, save one, all of the moderators here, are moderators on the live chat. I think we are more than fair and we put up with some stuff that other chat's don't. I like to think we are helpful and produce a pleasant atmosphere for the chatters. I've had my moments of frustration and have had to take a break for a bit. But after some time to reflect, it's back to the combat...errr, chatting. :P
I must be the "save one" since I mod here (and at the Lockergnome forum) but not on chat (AFAIK).
I admire the staff that moderates chat. Moderating a forum isn't nearly as frantic and fast paced as a chatroom. It takes dedication to spot trouble before it gets out of hand and deal with it so as not to disrupt the flow.
No one enjoys being moderated, even me, but the reality is that we all have the potential to type too fast and think too slow. If you get moderated, take it, learn from it and move on. Too many sites have disappeared or become ghost towns due to the lack of good moderation. No forum owner or chat operator wants that to happen to their site.

That would have been a bot ban. I see it as that if a bot bans just over what it is supposed to, then it is good. You can never be too safe with potential spammers. :)
